Ararat Hotel Istanbul

Ararat Hotel Istanbul

Istanbul's Ararat Hotel is a small, intimate, artistic boutique hotel directly across the street from Istanbul's famous Blue Mosque in Sultanahmet Square. Each of our 12 guest rooms, has its own character, and all have been individually designed and decorated with Byzantine-inspired murals and color accents by Athenian artist Nikos Papadakis, (The painting above is an example of Mr Papadakis's Byzantine-inspired art.) All of our guest accommodations have private bathrooms, direct-dial telephones, individually-controlled air conditioning, and double-glazed windows for weather- and sound-proofing. Four of our rooms have views of the Blue Mosque, and two have views of the Sea of Marmara. When you're not in your room, head for the rooftop terrace, which is where you'll find breakfast every day, a wireless high-speed Internet connection, excellent views of the Blue Mosque, the Sea of Marmara, and Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia) and also, often, the hotel's congenial owner, Mr Haydar Sarigül. a three-minute walk away). The Hotel Ararat is Istanbul's equivalent of the atmospheric little Left Bank Paris hotel you may have stayed in years ago, especially good for singles and young couples. Note that the lobby is one flight of steps up from the street, and many guest rooms are up a second flight. (There is no elevator/lift.)
